Her eyes speak volumes of the pain she's endured. It's heartbreaking to think that her owners claimed to love her for a year, yet she was left to fend for herself after running away on Halloween of 2020. For months, she was lost and alone, with no one to care for her or offer her a warm bed to sleep in.

Despite the joy of being reunited with her owners, it was clear that Brighe had suffered greatly during her time away. She was skin and bones, unable to stand or walk on her own, and in desperate need of medical attention. It was a heartbreaking sight, and it became clear that her owners were unable to provide the care she needed.

It's heartbreaking to think that someone could do this to an innocent creature. The fact that she was left to suffer for so long without anyone stepping in to help is unconscionable. But now, we are here for her, and we will make sure that she receives the care and love that she deserves. We may never know exactly what happened to her, but what we do know is that she is a survivor, and we will do everything in our power to make sure that she thrives from this day forward.

It is heartbreaking to think that someone deliberately neglected and abused Brighe in such a cruel manner. Even stray dogs are able to fend for themselves and find food, but this poor dog was intentionally starved and mistreated by a human being. It's difficult to fathom what kind of person could be capable of such heinous actions towards an innocent animal.

We can only imagine the unimaginable cruelty that was inflicted upon her. Her name is Brighe and she is currently receiving treatment at the veterinarian's office. She will need to be hospitalized for the next 2-4 days, depending on how she responds to the slow refeeding process.

Refeeding dogs in this critical condition must be done very slowly and carefully as it can be dangerous. Giving them too much food too quickly can cause organ failure. But on day three, we finally got the news we were waiting for: Brighe is eating on her own! It's a small victory, but it's a significant step forward in her recovery. She still has a long way to go, but we are hopeful that she will continue to improve.

On day 5, Brighe's progress is remarkable. Her bloodwork is improving, and she can now consume 6 tablespoons of food every 4 hours. She has come a long way and has fought like a true warrior. The good news is that she will finally get to go home tomorrow!

We can't wait to see what the future holds for our little survivor! It's time for her to leave this nightmare behind and move on to a bright future, full of nothing but good things. She deserves all the love, care, and happiness in the world. We are grateful to have been a part of her journey and will always cherish the memory of watching her fight and overcome the unthinkable.

We have no doubt that she will continue to receive the love and care that she deserves in her new forever home. We are grateful for all of the kind-hearted individuals who have shown Brighe compassion and support throughout her recovery journey.

Day 6: Brighe has been discharged from the hospital and has settled in nicely at her foster home!

It's heartwarming to see Brighe finally playing and enjoying her toys. It's clear that she's found a loving and nurturing environment in her foster home. While she's not yet able to stand up on her own, her foster mom is there to help her and provide the support she needs. With time and care, we hope that Brighe will continue to make progress and regain her strength and mobility.

Day 14: Brighe took her first short walk in the front yard today! Her walking ability has improved significantly in just two weeks! Our little fighter has made big strides, and we are so proud of her!

Day 15: Brighe is doing well and enjoys her meals every 4 hours round the clock. One of the hardest things about caring for her is resisting the urge to feed her. When we see a dog in this condition, we want to feed them and give them all of the treats! Her foster mom is doing an incredible job of giving her exactly what she needs!

Brighe's progress is amazing! It's wonderful to see her thriving in her foster home and enjoying her meals. It's understandable that the caregivers want to feed her more, but it's important to stick to the slow refeeding plan to ensure her body can handle it. Her foster mom is doing a fantastic job of providing her with the care she needs to continue her recovery.

Day 19: Can you believe it? Our lovely Brighe has gained 4.4 pounds! She's doing so well! Through her journey, Brighe has taught us about the power of love and forgiveness. Despite the trauma she's been through, her heart remains pure and all she wants is to be loved.

Day 21: Look how far Brighe has come! It's amazing!

Day 50: Brighe is doing fantastic and has gained almost double the weight since she arrived, weighing 29 pounds now! Her foster mom, Jill, has done an incredible job caring for her, and we're grateful to have her on our team! Day 55: Brighe has been taking daily walks and is doing so well that she even pulls on the leash. We will work on leash manners soon.

Day 60: Brighe got to see her foster mom, Jill, and was thrilled to see her. We think Jill felt the same!

Day 62: The day has finally arrived! Brighe is home with her new family, including a new sister, and her parents are thrilled to have her as part of their family!
